(Danville, Virginia) December 17, 2021  – The Board of Trustees of the J.T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust (a trust, announced in October 2007 and formed through the generosity of James T. Emerson) is pleased to announce that $1,249,142 in charitable grants were awarded during 2021 to the following tax exempt  organizations:  Bachelors Hall Volunteer Fire Department Inc, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area, Blairs Fire & Rescue Inc, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Danville Area, Brosville-Cascade Volunteer Fire Department Inc, Callands Volunteer Fire and Rescue Inc, Cascade Community Volunteer Fire Department, Chatham Volunteer Fire Department, City of Danville, Climax Volunteer Fire Company Inc, Danville Area Training Center Inc, Danville Church Based Tutorial Program Inc, Danville Concert Association Inc, Danville Fire Department/City of Danville, Danville Life Saving and First Aid Crew Inc, Danville Literacy Council, Danville Pittsylvania Community Services, Danville Public Schools Education Foundation, Danville Speech & Hearing Center, Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer, Dry Fork Volunteer Fire Department Inc, Fear 2 Freedom Inc, Gods Pit Crew Inc, God’s Storehouse Inc, Gretna Rescue Squad Inc, Head Start/Community Improvement Council, Northern Pittsylvania County Food Center Inc, Olde Dominion Agriculture Foundation Inc, Pittsylvania County Public Library/PPL Foundation, Renan Volunteer Fire Department Inc, Ringgold Volunteer Fire & Rescue Inc, Riverbend Volunteer Fire Department Inc and White Oak Grove Outreach Center.

Charitable grants were awarded for the benefit of Danville/Pittsylvania county residents.  Since the Trust’s formation in October 2007, a total of $14,287,529 has been awarded in charitable grants.

The J.T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust of Danville, VA was founded to provide higher educational opportunities through financial assistance to deserving students and provide charitable grants to tax exempt organizations in the Danville/Pittsylvania County, VA area.
