The J.T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust, a 501(c)(3) private foundation, was established in 2007 through the generosity of its sole benefactor, James T. Emerson, deceased. The Trust provides higher educational scholarships to students and makes charitable grants to tax-exempt organizations. Please read the biographical stories about Mr. Emerson and Minnie Maude to understand why the trustees and staff are committed to the Trust’s mission and vision.

MISSION

Following the directions of its sole benefactor, James Thomas Emerson, deceased, the J.T.- Minnie Maude Charitable Trust provides higher education scholarships to increase career opportunities for regional students and grants to tax-exempt organizations to improve the quality of life for residents of Danville/Pittsylvania County.

VISION

The J.T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust serves as a perpetual financial resource to area students and tax-exempt organizations allowing our community and its residents to compete and succeed.

  • Register for College Entrance Tests

    Register for ACT or SAT for admission. Take the PSAT in your junior year if you want to participate in the National Merit Scholarship program.

  • Complete a Practice Application for Admission

    Complete a practice application for admission to familiarize with what an actual application is like. Research how to order an official transcript from your school.
