JT-Minnie Maude Charitable Trust: Awards for 4-2-10 Deadline Date (7-2-10)

(Danville, Virginia) July 2ndd, 2010 – The Board of Trustees of the J.T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust (a trust, announced in October 2007 and formed through the generosity of James T. Emerson) is pleased to announce that $760,000 has been awarded in scholarships to 421 students for the 2010-2011 academic year. The Trust offers scholarship opportunities to students who reside in Caswell, Halifax, Henry, Pittsylvania and Rockingham counties (including all towns or cities located within these 5 counties). Individual scholarship amounts ranged from $500 to $7,500.

Award recipients were selected based on academic success and promise, financial need and other selection criteria. Scholarships are generally renewable, provided the student continues to meet all scholarship criteria.

J.T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust of Danville, VA was founded to provide higher educational opportunities through financial assistance to deserving and needy students and provide charitable grants to tax exempt organizations in the Danville / Pittsylvania County, VA area.

JT-Minnie Maude Charitable Trust: Total Awards for 2009

(Danville, Virginia) Nov. 25th, 2009 – The Board of Trustees of the J.T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust (a trust, announced in October 2007 and formed through the generosity of James T. Emerson) is pleased to announce that during 2009 $852,682 was awarded to students in scholarships and $1,014,602 was awarded to tax exempt 501(c)3 organizations in charitable grants.

The Trust offered scholarship opportunities to students who resided in Caswell, Halifax, Henry, Pittsylvania and Rockingham counties. Charitable grants were awarded for the benefit of Danville/Pittsylvania county residents. Since the Trust’s formation in October 2007 a total of $2,644,457 has been awarded; $1,406,076 in scholarships and $1,238,381 in charitable grants.

(Danville, Virginia) June 25th, 2009 – The Board of Trustees of the J.T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust (a trust, announced in October 2007 and formed through the generosity of James T. Emerson) is pleased to announce that $720,000 has been awarded in scholarships to 377 students for the 2009-2010 academic year. The Trust offered scholarship opportunities to students who resided in Caswell, Halifax, Henry, Pittsylvania and Rockingham counties (including all towns or cities located within these 5 counties).

Individual scholarship amounts ranged from $500 to $7,500. Awards were made to 232 students who are already enrolled in college (includes 141 renewals) and to 145 graduating high school seniors.

Award recipients were selected based on academic success and promise, financial need and other selection criteria. Scholarships are renewable, provided the student continues to meet all scholarship criteria.

(Danville, Virginia) Dec. 10, 2008 - The Board of Trustees of the J.T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust (a trust, announced in October 2007 and formed through the generosity of James T. Emerson) is pleased to announce that during 2008 $553,394 was awarded to students in scholarships and $218,279 was awarded to tax exempt 501(c)3 organizations in charitable grants.

The Trust offered scholarship opportunities to students who resided in Caswell, Halifax, Henry, Pittsylvania and Rockingham counties. Charitable grants were awarded for the benefit of Danville/Pittsylvania county residents. The total awarded since the Trust’s formation in October 2007 amounts to $777,173.

Emerson) is pleased to announce that $488,000 has been awarded in scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year. The Trust offered scholarship opportunities to students who resided in Caswell, Halifax, Henry, Pittsylvania and Rockingham counties. Individual scholarship amounts ranged from $500 to $7,500. Awards were made to 94 students who are already enrolled in college and to 131 graduating high school seniors.
